  How do JW's get reinstated?

  i have a friend that was df'd last year.

  he hasn't committed the "sin" in a year and doesn't plan on doing it again either.

  he has been very strong and wants to get reinstated.

  The question I would ask your friend is Why would you want to get reinstated in the first place? As you have read the posts here you will realize that the JW's are a cult. Your friend can find true happiness all he has to do is look inside himself. He does not need any man made organization.

  If he really wants to get back in. The elders look at whether he is repented (Translated means, has he done a lot of ass kissing). Regularly attending the meetings and not practicing the wrong doing anymore. After a period of time and if he was DF'd in another congregation, the elders will recommend to the congregation he was DF'd in to be reinstated.

  i started on some research to expose the cult that xenu is trying to sneak on to this board "raelians" and i think i might have come across something that will be of interest to all of you.

  i will address the information that exposes xenu's cult the raelians in another thread but at this time i wanted to bring this very interesting information on this thread to see if anyone has heard of this.

  the group is called the international federation of religious and philosophical minorities (known by its french acronym, firephim) and is devoted to defending the cause of nrms.

  I watch a documentary not that long ago about Church of Scientology. What I recall is they interviewed one of the leaders of the church. He was some slick, used car salesman, slimy bastard lawyer.. I can't believe anyone with any brains would follow such a cult. I used to like actors like John Travolta and Tom Cruise but I understand that they are also Scientologists. I have lost all respect for them. As a matter of fact they were saying that these actors would put subtle Scientology messages in some of their films. I now try to advoid watching any of their films not only because their maybe hidden messages but also you know that some of that money that they make from the proceeds would go to the church.

  How much $ did you give for CD's, books etc?

  now i know money is a touchy subject, so if you feel discomforted by these questions, don't answer!.

  remember those articles that basically said "some have asked an appropriate amount to contribute for items such as the cd, bound volumes etc.

  this crap usually sells for $x in the shops."?.

  Whatever belief you have whether, Buddhists, Hindu, Muslim or Christian, Jesus message was a simple one. It was a message of love and to get to have personal relationship with god, that is what was important. Religion has taken this simple message and twisted into one of hate of oneself and others. To serve God not because we want to but out of fear that he will destroy us. That is not the message that Jesus taught. Learn to look at yourself, at your existence, as a spiritual being having a human experience.

  some years ago, i knew a brother with mental problems.. oddly enough, he managed to own a house and car on a. disability pension.

  i wondered how he survived on his.

  visiting his house, i found that he made written.

  The WT failed prophecies and the way they would talk down to the average Jdub was the 2 big reasons I left the Borg. The books and magazines now are written mainly for the lowly educated 3rd world countries. Most of the Watchtower articles is just recycled baby pabulum for the mind. All I have to do to get a good snooze is sit in a KH for an hour.

  Is holy spirit really involved with appointments?

  i've always been curious about the process they use to appoint someone as a minsterial servant, elder or pioneer.

  do they claim these appointments are made by holy spirit?

  i am aware that the elder body has to first approve it and then send it through bethel or the circuit overseer, but i'm not sure what happens next.

  Most appointments are made like any professional promotions. It comes down whether they like you or not period. Whether you did enough ass kissing. There is no spiritual appointment because if they are spiritually directed, how can they make mistakes?

  the church i attend now is quite large.

  1800+ members, as well as hundreds of other regular attenders.
